Emaux Bressans Jeanvoine

Depuis 1850, les fabricants d'emaux Bressans ont toujours respecté la tradition bressane et le travail d'artisanat. La fabrication d'émaillerie bressane est aujourd'hui encore réalisée à Bourg-en-Bresse. Celle-ci se décompose en deux parties :
- Le corps qui est en argent Rhodié, argent doré ou or 750/1000.
- La fabrication de l'émail proprement dit : un fond en argent sert de support aux différentes couches d'émail, décorées ensuite de motifs en or, ce qui leur donne tout leur attrait de bijoux.

Enamelled Jewels from the Bresse region

Since 1850, the manufacturers of bressan enamelled jewels have always respected the tradition and the craftmanship from the old Bresse province. The making process of the "bressan enamelled work" is still today carried out in the town of Bourg-en-Bresse. This process is made up of two distinct stages :
- First comes the body which can either be silver made "Rhodié", silver plated or gold made (grade : 750/1000).
- Then comes the making of enamel proper; on a silver-made bottom are laid several layers of enamel and ultimately are displayed the famous golden-made designs which transform them into attractive jewels.
